The Council’s mission is “to identify and encourage historical and educational projects that have as their purpose the enhancement and preservation of the state’s maritime history and culture, and that create public awareness of that heritage.”
A few good reasons to join the Council:
▬ You will receive the annual publication Tributaries, presenting current research and articles on North Carolina’s varied maritime history.
▬ You will be invited to attend the annual meeting that brings together some of the best and most active people involved in maritime research, archaeology, and museums.
▬ You will talk, breath, relish, and have fun with a like–minded group of “Brethren of the Coast” at the annual meeting.
▬ You will connect with maritime cultural institutions in the Southeastern United States.

▬ Your institution will eligible to request support from the Council for its projects.
